We will learn basic italic letterforms using monoline tools. Great for beginners to learn the skeletal forms of italic calligraphy as well as those wanting to strengthen their every day handwriting. Monoline italic can be used in a variety of ways including your daily journal practice, greeting cards, and artwork.

About Lona Lee
Lona Lee is a calligrapher based in the South Bay region of Los Angeles, California.
Ever since she walked into her first calligraphy workshop in 2019, Lona has been hooked
on pens and nibs – so much so that she folded her tax career a year later, to head down
a path of a more creative and fulfilling life. At present, she makes art in her home studio,
contracts with the County of Los Angeles, and occasionally teaches small groups in her
community. Much of her inspiration comes from her teachers - both in art and in life, as
well as her journey with inner work and spirituality.
When she's not practicing calligraphy or volunteering with the Society for Calligraphy,
she enjoys yoga, watercolor, the outdoors, and traveling. Lona grew up in New York but
opted for the perpetual sunshine of California on and off since 2002. She now lives in
Lomita with her husband and two cute cats, Goni and Willi.
