Art Journaling is the creation of a sketchbook or journal full of creative exploration, personal investigation, and artistic record keeping. Perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists, art journaling provides both a creative practice space as well as a low-pressure outlet for externalizing what we might otherwise keep inside.

In this fourth installment of "Art Journaling the Season," students will explore capturing the feeling of winter and the end of the year through 2-4 journal prompts, depending on how quickly you like to work. Planned themes include wintery landscapes, mandalas as snowflakes, cold weather wildlife, and visual list making. Each prompt will be presented along with a suggested process and materials, but then it is up to the student to explore that theme as best suits them individually. This is a very ability-inclusive process and there will be lots of room for following your own instincts. No drawing skills required! There will be materials available for tracing, transferring, and collaging so that you can achieve a pleasing outcome without stress. You do not have to have attended the previous workshops to join us for this one.

Art journals and materials will be provided, but you may bring your in-progress art journal, if you have one, and your favorite general mixed media art kit if you'd like. Check out the attached materials list if you want to see what you might want to bring, but you can absolutely also show up empty handed and be just fine.
