Art Journaling is the creation of a sketchbook or journal full of creative exploration, personal investigation, and artistic record keeping. Perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists, art journaling provides both a creative practice space as well as a low-pressure outlet for externalizing what we might otherwise keep inside.
In this second installment of "Elements of Art Journaling - Figures and Faces" students will learn a variety of methods to add people to their art journal spreads. Planned techniques include collage, tracing, transferring images using transfer paper, and of course, some gestural drawing. This is a very ability-inclusive process, and you do not need to be confident in your drawing skills to succeed. Our focus will be on skill-building, even if you are starting with zero skill.
All materials will be provided, but if you would like to bring your own materials, feel free. I have attached a general mixed media kit materials list if you are interested, but you can arrive empty handed and be just fine!
