This workshop is appropriate for beginners to the advanced. Paula will do a demonstration then support each painter in their experiences of oil painting as they paint.
We will review the techniques and approaches for an in-person still life painting session. Working from a set-up of a few objects and drapery, we will consider our arrangement of paints on a palette, brush styles and their uses, laying in a strong foundation, looking for the range of dark to light, warm and cool colors, edges, comparing of shapes and how to move the viewers’ eye through a painting.

About Paula Vukmanic
The Rev. Paula Vukmanic was Rector of St Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates and now enjoys mentoring and giving workshops at Destination: Art in Torrance. Prior to her years in ordained ministry, Paula was a professional artist exhibiting in galleries in California and Arizona, participating in plein aire events and competitions, giving retreats and workshops on the mandala and teaching plein aire classes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula hills and still life painting in her studio (at the PVAC too!). Paula is excited to be retired and is grateful to once again share her world of art and her spiritual perspectives on life with love!
